Broker settlement

Factoring deposit (optional)

A factoring fee is a factor's charge, not a broker shortfall — it's kept out of the broker variance below.

How to audit a trucking settlement

Start with the signed rate confirmation and written amendments. Add linehaul, fuel surcharge and approved accessorials to calculate the expected broker gross. Compare that total with the settlement statement before reviewing the factoring statement.

Keep broker deductions separate from factoring fees, reserves, advances and other factor adjustments. A difference is a reason to inspect the source documents; it is not, by itself, proof of a short-pay.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if a freight broker short-paid a load?

Rebuild the agreed gross from the signed rate confirmation and approved accessorials, then compare it with the broker's settlement gross. Haul Audit calculates that variance.

Are factoring fees the same as broker deductions?

No. Factoring fees, reserves and advances belong to the factoring reconciliation. They should not be mixed into the broker settlement variance.

Does Haul Audit upload my rate confirmation or settlement?

No. The calculations run in your browser. Do not enter sensitive personal or account information into the calculator.
